2,516 – that's how many exhibitors are already listed for the SHOT Show in Las Vegas when this article goes to press. As usual, the major event of the gun industry always takes place at the beginning of the year and thus opens the trade show season in 2023. As usual, the traditional "Industry Day at the Range" takes place one day before, i.e. on January 16, 2023. all4shooters.com will also report on this action-packed event with many videos.
At the SHOT Show, innovations and products related to topics such as firearms, ammunition, outdoor clothing, optics, and related services are on display to more than 6,000 industry experts. This makes it the largest trade show of its kind in the world. For four days, visitors can be convinced by the exhibiting companies of the products on an exhibition area of more than 800,000 square meters, and in the process decide what will be on display in specialist stores in the future.
SHOT Show 2023: 2,564 exhibitors in two Las Vegas locations – Caesars Forum and Venetian Expo
This year, the SHOT Show will even be split between two venues. The Caesars Forum and two large floors of the Venetian Expo will host the exhibition booths. While the higher floors of the Venetian Expo will house additional offerings such as the rooms for press representatives as well as the education program (see below for details). Both venues are connected by the "SHOT Bridge". The SHOT Show 2023 website provides a convenient overview of the entire event site.
This is what we expect for SHOT Show 2023
After the SHOT Show was only held virtually in 2021 and on a smaller scale in 2022, there is a real sense of optimism this year and the comeback is being celebrated on a large stage in 2023 with a significantly enlarged exhibitor area and an extensive "SHOT After Dark" supporting program that extends well into the evening hours and is thus intended to provide even more opportunity for exchange. In addition to various networking events each evening, a special highlight on Wednesday will be an All Star Jam Concert sponsored by Glock, Federal and Remington. In the midst of all this euphoria, it is somewhat surprising that SIG Sauer, the industry giant, is once again not to be found in the list of exhibitors. Whereas last year's absence was justified by the need to protect its employees in view of the prevailing Covid 19 pandemic, this year there was not even an official announcement from New Hampshire. In this respect, one can only speculate about the reasons. In any case, SIG Sauer seems to be increasingly focusing on the end consumer in its marketing activities and is instead once again hosting its so-called "SIG Experience Days" in 2023, where consumers can put the entire product catalog through its paces. Interestingly, SIG Sauer will once again be hosting its own Range Day right on January 16, 2023. Obviously, the company does not want to turn its back on the SHOT Show altogether.
But back to the SHOT Show: in addition to the actual trade fair operations, training events such as the SHOT University are becoming increasingly important. In the course of numerous lectures, visitors learn more about topics such as marketing, the use of digital payment methods or dealing with social media from the meta universe. In addition, the Law Enforcement Education Program (LEEP) offers interesting seminars for LE agencies.
In the digital age, it also happens that some novelties are already leaked before the trade show. Therefore, we can already reveal to you that our colleagues will give you exclusive insights into products such as the new Glock G47 MOS or the GLOCK Performance Trigger, the 1911 from Savage and the new Canik SFx RIVAL-S Strikerfire pistol with steel grip frame.
Many new products expected – all4shooters.com reports directly from SHOT Show 2023
As every year, the presentation of many more new products in the handgun, long gun, optics, accessories and outdoor equipment areas is expected in 2023. We have already reported on a large number of innovations in recent years. As in previous years, this major industry trade show will be co-organized by the NSSF (National Shooting Sports Foundation).
A first overview of exhibitors and products can be found in the official exhibitor directory of SHOT Show 2023.
As you are already used to as a reader of our reporting, we will also report on the SHOT Show 2023 in news sorted by trade show days, in addition with a report on the Industry Day at the Range of course. Due to the time difference between Europe and Las Vegas, the reports will reach us with a one-day delay. We will therefore start our coverage on the web and on our social media channels on January 17 with the Industry Day at the Range.
